3 Examples of LDS Ring Ceremony Wording

For LDS couples, a ring ceremony is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate their marriage with family and friends of different faiths.

However, it can be difficult to know what to say during the ceremony. LDS couples are asked not to exchange vows to ensure nothing detracts from the sacred religious sealing inside the temple.

Finding a way to break from traditional wedding vows while still sharing the abundance of love you have for each other may seem overwhelming. That is why we have created three different examples to inspire you. These examples of LDS ring ceremony wording may be copied directly, edited, or added upon.

LDS Ring Ceremony Wording #1 – A Love Like the Stars

LDS Ring Ceremony Wording Program - A Love Like the StarsAs I give you this ring, I look back on memories more precious to me than the stars, each one guiding me to this day. Life was darker without you. I didn’t realize just how dark until you appeared, the many evidences of your tender, patient love slowly illuminating my way until I was dazzled.

I am dazzled. I am in awe of you and the way you love me and the way you love God. I look forward to spending the rest of my life just looking in wonder at all we will create.

I look forward to honoring the covenants we have made to each other and to God in the Holy Temple. May this ring be a symbol of my commitment to you and the eternal nature of our marriage, which I know will last much longer than the stars.

LDS Ring Ceremony Wording #2 – I Believe

I believe in you. I believe in your goodness, your strength, and your faith. I believe in who I can become with you at my side. I love you, wholly and completely, as you are. With the aid and promises of heaven, I believe in our glorious future.

Today, I give you this ring as a symbol of my belief in the eternal nature of our love and our marriage.

  1. I love this article. I am wondering if you have written an article on something similar to this where the couple being sealed has already been married? My husband and I eloped and then years later I converted and just recently my husband converted and we will be sealed in March which is our 15th anniversary!! We are having a reception after and would like to do a ceremony for our family and friends that were not able to be there for our first wedding because we eloped and are not LDS so they won’t be there for the sealing.

    • Dena! This is our first article of this type, but we plan to do more. We suggest using this wording as a base, adding some thoughts of your many years together and how your sealing represents a new phase of your life. However, we’d love to work with you one-on-one if you’re struggling. Use our contact form to reach out to us: https://ldswedding.com/contact/

Congratulations on your sealing! Your love story sounds beautiful!
