Originally used as a stable and equipment storage shed in the early twentieth century, Memorial House was transformed in 1926 when prominent architects completely redesigned the building. With nearly a century of experience, and alongside renewed efforts to restore and preserve the house and grounds, Memorial House continues to build on their celebrated history of hosting weddings, receptions, and luncheons.

We talked with our friends at Memorial House to give you an in-depth look at their services for your special day.

Memorial House offers multiple venues spaces, including the main hall, the garden room, the patio, the south lawn, the rose garden, and other outdoor locations in Memory Grove Park.

 

Reservations include access to both indoor and outdoor spaces, tables chairs and up to 14 linens, and 2 hosts that set up your tables, chairs, and linens for both your reception and ring ceremony if you would like one. You also get to work one on one with the knowledgeable Memorial House Manager who will help you put a floor plan together, manage your day’s timeline, order your linens and take care of any A/V needs you may have.  Rental rates start at $750-$2500 and include all of the above.

The elegant historic hall illuminated by natural light, with chandeliers and a working fireplace is perfect for both ring ceremonies and receptions. The garden settings are found amidst the monuments and waterways of Memory Grove Park. Plus, it’s a convenient location just minutes from downtown yet hidden away in the peaceful environment of City Creek Canyon.

Memorial House works with a variety of preferred catering companies. For an additional $300, you can use another caterer if approved by their management team. Bartending, decorating, and florist services are also available. Because Memorial House is a historic property, some decorating guidelines do need to be followed. No tacking, taping, tailing and tying to any surface is allowed and items that are difficult to clean up or may cause damage are also prohibited, such as confetti, rice, flower petals, candles, and sparklers.

Because of the versatile spaces, Memorial House can accommodate any of your events. It also has availabilities for dinner parties, corporate events, life celebrations, and more.

If you’d like to reserve Memorial House for your wedding, its friendly managers ask you to book at least a month in advance. However, they did note the popular summer and fall dates can fill up about 4-6 months in advance.
