Kelly and Micklane were married on August 10, 2017, in the Provo City Center Temple.

We met in October of 2016. We actually met on Tinder, so believe me I have already heard “aw from Tinder to Temple” and “The Lord’s Tinder mercies.” On our first date, we saw a movie. After the movie, we talked in the parking lot for what felt like minutes but was actually hours. From that moment on I haven’t stopped talking to him. We bring out the best in one another. I know everyone says they married their best friend, but I truly did! I wake up excited to talk to him and can’t wait to see what eternity brings us! :)

What was wedding planning like for you?

I wish I could say it was a complete dream! Alas, it wasn’t. I knew what I wanted the end goal to be – but had almost no clue how to get there. My husband helped get a lot of it figured out along with all my sister in laws. I feel like I got stuck between Pinterest dreams and reality a lot. With the help of everyone around my dreams did come true.

Looking back, would you do anything differently about your wedding planning and/or wedding?

I would tell myself – calm down! I remember stressing over little things that didn’t matter. I wouldn’t waste the fun time being engaged worried about the few months of wedding planning that lied ahead. I would ask for more help from people – or say yes when people offer. I would try harder to live in the moment.

What advice would you give LDS couples planning a wedding?

Ask around! Everyone knows someone who knows someone! Don’t be afraid to ask for help or advice :) And along the same note, don’t be afraid to turn down ideas either. Keep a journal too! Its such a short time and so much happens, you will love having those small memories in the future. On the day of your wedding, everything goes by so fast. Make sure to smile and don’t stress. ALSO EAT!

Describe your wedding style.

I love the simple look! My reception was outdoors and my wedding colors were green and navy blue. I wanted everything to feel calm and relaxed. I wanted everyone to enjoy themselves. My style was almost a lack thereof – the wedding party was told the wedding colors but then could wear what they wanted. I wanted everyone to feel comfortable. I like a lack of formality and that’s what I went for.

What is something specific that you remember about your wedding?

The morning of my wedding day I went over to my make up artists’ house. Micklane picked me up there. We got in the car and started driving to the temple. He looked at me and said, “You want to get married?” My whole world stopped. My whole life I had planned my wedding in the back of my head, and it was finally here. Everything had come together. The man of my dreams was holding my hand and within hours he would be mind forever! It finally hit me that my happily ever after had arrived and that smile would be swept from my face all day. I also weirdly being excited about lunch. We ate at Zubs in Provo. It was really good.
